I think consistency is overrated, and I’d rather the show try everything on the map than simply turn out one same-y episode after another.
Maybe one of my favorite Glee duets OF ALL TIME. Sam and Quinn sing "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. After several weeks of "event" television and some hit-and-miss drama, Glee finally found its groove with "Duets. “River Deep, Mountain High” might be the best musical number the show’s ever done from a pure performance standpoint. as their favorite routine, though Benigno gave it only a "B" grade, as its appeal hinged on Mike's dancing, rather than his vocal performance. [39][41] Reiter felt that the costumes and choreography overpowered the emotion of the piece,[28] and Futterman found the number "too self-indulgent and reminiscent of previous performances like 'Rose's Turn'.
Once again, Kurt stole the show in terms of pure emotional power. That said, what I love about Brennan is that he takes big, crazy chances with the emotions of the show, not with the series’ ability to pull off random gags.
