The Zombies was a very underrated group in the 60's, but "Odessey and Oracle" is a very beautiful album.
Pepper" and "Pet Sounds" ... it's THAT good. I am sure there are better sounding pressing out there but for the money you can't beat this one. Care Of cell 44 mono version 40 sec shorter than Stereo version, but then Stereo O&O was an after thought. Unable to add item to List.
"Changes" also benefits from radiant singing. 27 tracks total.

Odessey and Oracle was one of the flukiest (and best) albums of the 1960s, and one of the most enduring long players to come out of the entire British psychedelic boom, mixing trippy melodies, ornate choruses, and lush Mellotron sounds with a solid hard rock base.

Overall, one of the best purchases I've made in a while. I was blown away by some of the tracks on initial listen ('hung up on a dream' and 'time of the season' especially), which gave me reason to come back and listen to the album and discover the joys of the darker and more obscure other tracks held within. But it was overlooked completely in England and barely got out in America (with a big push by Al Kooper, who was then a Columbia Records producer); and it was neglected in the U.S. until the single "Time of the Season," culled from the album, topped the charts nearly two years after it was recorded, by which time the group was long disbanded. It included the album in Mono and Stereo. While I knew The Zombies through their popular hits, I never really knew of their true artistry until seeing them live last summer. The Zombies’ swan song album, at the time of its April 1968 release, was largely overlooked and ignored until nearly two years later when the irresistible “Time of the Season” finally scored as a hit single. The Zombies were perhaps the most British-sounding of all British Invasion groups, and yet they never scored a hit record in their native U.K. It's really not. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 17, 2018.

The Zombies are an English rock band formed in 1962 in St Albans and led by keyboardist and vocalist Rod Argent and vocalist Colin Blunstone. The Zombies' main songwriters explored "psychedelic" themes from odd angles. Passer au contenu principal.fr. It's a good album but very much of its time, reminiscent of contemporaries like the Moody Blues and the Small Faces' Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. It sounds nice and quiet, well mixed and mastered, and there's not a warp to be had (the record is rather thin so warping isn't completely out of the question depending on how specific shops store their inventory, but nevertheless I lucked out). © 1996-2020, Amazon.com, Inc. ou ses filiales.
