In a couple of weeks I will put up my post on the penguins of Low Head, near Launceston. David and I left Bruny long before the penguins were due to arrive, however judging by the number of burrows we saw, they must come ashore in significant numbers. We also had some excellent oysters in Get Shucked on the north side of Bruny. They don't really have a water view but the water is a minute stroll from the accommodation.

We were told there is a petrol station on the island at Alonnah but we didn't see it. We saw several brown wallabies not far from where we saw the white wallabies. We read your post, walked to the road you said you saw the wallabies and ... we saw the SAME two white wallabies! We are thinking about going back in a year or so and staying for a few nights to see the penguins. There are more than a thousand temples in the jungles around Siem Reap in Cambodia.
I wouldn't mind going if there is as much wildlife as you describe. It helps to know where to look.

Some are white due to a genetic mutation and others are albinos. The last ferry leaves Bruny at 7.15 pm and sunset is not until about 8.45 pm. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Oh my god Bruny Island white wallabies, I had no idea this existed, they're so cute!! We stayed two nights at The Sanctuary on Adventure Bay in mid-February. Prices are provided by our partners for one room, with variable occupancy rules as provided by the property, and reflect total costs of the stay, including all taxes and fees known to our partners. Nearby attractions include Fluted Cape Trail (3.8 km), Bligh Museum of Pacific Exploration (0.4 km), and Sprokkelwood Art Garden (7.4 km). I don't know how 6 people would manage. The reason I didn't mention why the wallabies are white is that when I did some research on the internet I got a few conflicting theories. We saw an albino kangaroo at a sanctuary on Kangaroo Island. The entrance fee to. After all, there are only 200, less than a third of the regular humans living there! A fantastic nights sleep on the great bed after a relaxing spa bath. Would love to explore this game reserve. It was interesting to see that the white wallaby has a regular brown coloured joey! However I think the explanation is that the wallabies are Bennetts Wallabies which are a separate subspecies but Bennetts Wallabies are usually brown. After all, there are only 200, less than a third of the regular humans living there!More. First, there is no Wifi and it took my international phone a long time to find the network (only Telus works here). Not great on the windy, narrow, dark roads.43 Degrees is highly recommended. There are some great car ferries in Australia. Due the the slanted wall, we often hit our head on the wall, so this may be difficult for tall people. Own or manage this property? As there were only 2 of us, we would had preferred a smaller option, but the rest were booked out.
And you mentioned a blond enchidna? We stayed here 2 nights, bringing in some Chinese takeout from Hobart to be reheated in the microwave for one and dined out in Hotel Bruny the second. All are a variant of the Bennett's Wallaby, Tasmania's version of the Red-necked Wallaby. Bruny Island has only a population of 700, one gas station and one restaurant that offers dinner (Hotel Bruny). He and a second, dark brown, wallaby were sitting about 25 metres from the road on the edge of a paddock. Bruny Island, a small island off the coast of Tasmania is home to a colony of rare white wallabies.
We very much enjoyed our stay and the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Rare albino wallabies are thriving on a small Tasmanian island due to a lack of predators and because locals think they are 'cute', experts have revealed.
