The weights themselves come as little steel dumbbell type things in 16g, 14g, and 10g. But as a whole package I’m really struggling to see where I’d recommend this over and above either the DualShock 4 itself or the standard Xbox One pad. You get a pair of each denomination. If I hadn’t used the Revolution Unlimited so much lately, I’d probably be in love with it. Overall, I very much like the direction Nacon is going with their pads. It won't stand the test of time, leaving you to probably leave the weights you don't use either bouncing around inside the case or tucked away in the netted compartment. For comparison here are the weights of controllers against each other – both Nacons have had 32g of additional weight added into their stock starting point. If you are a casual gamer, that might be a bridge too far to cross, but if you want a nicer controller with a good level of customization to help you improve in the games you love, it’s a good mid-ground between going out all-hog with a high priced super-pro model like the Unlimited or Xbox Elite.

Thankfully, the Pro Controller 3 also foregoes the standard micro-USB connection found on the DS4 in favour of USB-C, with a much deeper socket to help it stay attached.
It’s not that it can be jury-rigged to function within Windows, there is a physical switch on the rear of the pad which flips it from console to PC mode, making it easy to set up.
That adds an extra layer of functionality to the Nacon Revolution Pro 3 when it’s plugged into a PC, but doesn’t quite give it the edge over the existing vanilla pads from Sony or Microsoft.
That’s what Nacon got incredibly close to when it created the Nacon Revolution Unlimited controller, a wireless pad which attempted to combine the best of both Microsoft and Sony’s iconic designs and mostly succeeded.

They feel much lighter than any other controller I’ve used, and trying to keep my shots on target in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was a nightmare. It’s recognized correctly by Windows (remember to flick the switch on the back to PC mode from PlayStation) and from then on it will work like the Xbox pad you are probably used to (apart from the fact the button labeling will be different as most games use the Xbox standard of A B X Y.). The Pro Controller 3, however, doesn't have things quite as tough as it is markedly cheaper than both the Unlimited and the Elite, bringing it into a price bracket that is still Pro enough to be above the standard controllers, but not, er well Elite or Unlimited. I’d recommend sticking to the preset profiles like FPS and Arcade, because while you could spend the time learning the software, the other aspects of the controller detract so much from the experience, you’d be much better off picking up a different device entirely.
